BAND BIRTHDAYS:

January 21 was our very own Willy's birthday! It fell mid-week this year, so the big guy got a well-deserved night off to spend with family and friends. Join us in wishing him a healthy and prosperous year--here's to many more for Slideman Slim!

March 11 was a big day. That's Bass-Man Billy Ice's birthday! The Bone Rollers took the stage for the first time at the Winner's Lounge in Bloomington on March 12, the night after Billy's big day--and we really rocked the place! Everyone had a great time, the crowd got bigger and bigger all night, and the dancing was out of hand! The Band really dug Winner's Lounge, and we hope to return soon.

NEW BIZ CARDS HAVE ARRIVED!

We've got new glossy, full color business cards, and we're just dying to give them away! Stop one of us at a show and ask us for one. Know somebody who needs to book a great band? Give 'em a Bone Rollers card and they'll owe you a favor.

BOSE PA SYSTEM HARD TO SEE, EASY TO HEAR:

We get a lot of questions at shows about our PA system. See that black stick standing up behind Willy, and that other one behind Billy? That's the PA. Amps, crossover, preamps, speakers, etc. The whole shebang. The subwoofers are behind them, hard to see, about 2 feet high or so. The BOSE system we use makes our set up faster and more reliable, it practically eliminates feedback issues, and best of all, because it is also our monitoring system, we get to hear the same sound our audiences do!

Everyone tells us it also sounds fantastic. Be sure to check out the PA next time you check out the band.

JET GOES WITH SMALLER DRUM SET:
Jet has moved from a 4-tom kit to a 2-tom setup. He's finding he gets more from each drum this way, and he's ''getting to know'' his drums a little better because of it. He's also finding a certain elegant simplicity in the jazzy style kit, so be on the lookout for his new techniques and tones He's also just added a new Zildjian 6 inch splash to his custom Caribbean Blue Drum Workshop kit--come out and hear the difference in Jet's drumset at the Bone Rollers' next show!

BILLY ICE, THE FAMOUS "ONE FOOT KEYBOARD PLAYER":

No, not a very height-challenged player--it's Bill and his shoes! Not content to be one of the area's best bass player/singers, Billy Ice takes on the role of keyboard player every night with The Bone Rollers. Ever notice that black box he's stepping on all the time? If you look closer, you'll see it has over an octave of ''keys'' for him to play with his feet. It's connected to a synthesizer that generates all sorts of sounds, from strings and piano to choirs and bells. Keep an eye, and an ear, on Billy and his fast footwork at our next show!

WILLY ADDS A VINTAGE IBANEZ:
Check it out! The Strat-slinger has added an humbucker-equipped vintage Ibanez Musician to his guitar line-up. It comes straight to you from the early 1970's, and it sounds awesome. He's had a lot of custom work done to it, so it's truly one-of-a-kind. Come hear Willy's new axe at our next show!

BONE ROLLERS HITTING A LOT OF NEW CLUBS:

We're doing a big outreach in 2010, spreading the word and the classic rock all around the Midwest. We're adding new clubs all the time to our schedule! Here are just some of the clubs we'll be visiting for the first time this year:

The Clark Bar, Champaign, IL

The Winner's Lounge, Bloomington, IL

Lock Stock & Barrel, Decatur, IL

Timbuktu, Decatur, IL

I & I State Line Tavern, Danville, IL

Gill Street Sports Bar, Bloomington, IL

The Rose Bowl, Urbana, IL

Bull's Eye, Hammond, IL

Uncle Buck's, Mahomet, IL

Be sure to tell your friends, and we'll see you there!

3 LEAD SINGERS:
If you've seen the show, you know that all 3 members of the Bone Rollers take turns at the mic singing lead vocals. 3 part harmonies are also a big part of the equation for these top performers. Come out and hear some of the best vocals around at a Bone Rollers show.

BONE ROLLERS ROCK THE 2009 FESTIVALS:
This was the year for festivals for The Bone Rollers. On June 6, our favorite band took the stage at the biker event of the year, the A.B.A.T.E. Summer Boogie, and really rocked those 2-wheeled rollers! From 5 to 8 pm, The Bone Rollers took the crowd by storm, showing them a great rock n roll time from the big stage! Be sure to stop by next time we play the BOOGIE!

Then on September 4, the 'Rollers shook the town of Deland for their wonderful Fall Festival. The whole village danced the night away on a gorgeous Midwestern night. Jamming to the Bone Rollers in the great outdoors is a great way to spend your evenings!

On September 18, the Bone Rollers were asked to participate in It'll Do 2's Summer Music Festival, taking the stage as the last band on Friday night. It was a great day of music, with 5 bands playing all day long.

Be sure to ask your festival organizer to book The Bone Rollers for their next event!

BILLY PLAYS DR STRINGS:
Billy Ice has done the research over literally thousands of gigs, and he'll tell you that DR Hand Wound Bass Strings are the way to go. They have more mass per string, so they give him incredible bottom end, huge notes, and big fat sustain. For a 3 piece band, bass is critical to a full sound, and Mr. Ice takes his job seriously, laying down the big grooves on all 4 strings. So for him, there is no other choice. He loves these bass strings! Ask Billy about his DR strings at our next show.

ROCK AND TROLL:
If you look carefully at most Bone Rollers shows, you'll see that each member of the band has a troll nearby. These are chosen nightly, just before the band takes the stage, from a huge collection the guys carry around to each venue. Call them lucky talismans, call it superstition, but it's always a better night when the trolls make their appearance. After all, it's only rock and troll.
